"Guilty until proven innocent"

There was once a time when passengers and their family could approach the gates and wave goodbye to each other right at the point of entering or departing a plane, that's gone! August of 2000 was the last time I would be free to do that. I use the word free because I am accused of something I have not done everytime I go to the airport and say goodbye to someone I love. Waiting in long lines to be screened, told what to take off, and also passing a few scans before proceeding is the norm these days. We have become accustomed to these interrogating measures that take away our dignity one flight at a time. Guilty until proven innocent! Security is important, however, methods used today take a high toll on our freedom.
